Webbers Falls Woman Nabbed in Sallisaw

A Webbers Falls woman faces felony drug possession charges in Sallisaw.

Police stopped Jaime Sharp, 43, on June 27 because of a defective brake light. A records check revealed Sharp had no driver’s license and that her passenger, Robert Shanks, had a valid warrant in Sequoyah County. He was subsequently arrested.

When Sharp refused to grant permission to search the vehicle, officers asked a K-9 unit to do an open-air search, the police report stated. The dog alerted on both sides of the car.

A search of the vehicle found three bags of a crystalline substance in Sharp’s purse and she was arrested. The bags tested positive for methamphetamine, and have been sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for further testing.

Sharp was charged with felony possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor charges of having a defective motor vehicle and driving without a license.
