The Pocket Park being built at the corner of Oak Street and Cherokee Avenue could be open as soon as the end of July, developer Larry Crowe said.
Crowe said the only tasks left are putting fencing around the park and pouring the sidewalk, which is a task for the city.
Sallisaw Main Street and Crowe are working together to build the park, which will be open to the public. In addition, artist Leah Agent is working on a mural.
The park will feature a stage, lighting, a refreshment stand and covered tables.
The park will be managed by Sallisaw Main Street, the downtown merchants association.
Crowe said the park can be used as a wedding venue or party site. Reservations are available through Main Street.
