The Board of Sequoyah County Commissioners approved a plan July 15 for the refurbishing of the fire escape going to the county clerk’s office.
Tommy Justice is doing the renovation, which is expected to take about two weeks. He will reuse the stairs’ handrail and columns, officials said. The stairs will be completely welded to meet the regulations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
During the construction, about half of the Sequoyah County Courthouse parking lot will be roped off.
Commissioners also approved a detention services agreement between Muskogee County and Sequoyah Enterprises Inc. and the Sequoyah County commissioners.
