Sallisaw Man Charged With Escape

A Sallisaw man faces felony escape charges, according to a police report.

Donovan Hood, 25, had been paroled Nov. 27 from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and was wearing a GPS-armed ankle device.

Police said that on July 8, data from Hood’s monitoring device showed that he had “purposely and willfully” turned off the system. Hood was declared an escapee at that point.

Hood appeared in court on July 10 and plead not guilty.

The felony is punishable by imprisonment for up to 7 years.

Hood is next scheduled to appear in court in front of Judge Waters on Aug. 28 at 8 a.m.
