A house fire near the corner of Hickory and Arlington in Sallisaw on Wednesday, July 3 left a historic home a complete loss.
The Sallisaw Fire Dept. was called to the scene at approximately 3:00 a.m. The cause of the fire was believed to have started on the second floor, according to Sallisaw Fire Chief Anthony Armstrong. There was reportedly a kitchen located on the second floor.
There was no one home at the time of the fire. Fire fighters were on site until almost 10:00 a.m.

Hickory and Washington streets both run north and south. They do not intersect.
