Webbers Falls Vice Mayor Charged With Embezzlement

Webbers Falls Vice Mayor Bobby S. Ogg, 38, was charged June 23 with a misdemeanor count of embezzlement.

He was released from jail on his own recognizance the next day, court records show. He is scheduled for a July 7 disposition before Muskogee County Special District Judge Robin Adair.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Ogg is accused of taking four semi-trailer tires, a lawnmower belt and three mower deck spindles after allegedly telling a town employee to purchase them from a Gore hardware store between Sept. 1, 2019, and May 29, 2020.

The affidavit further states that Ogg then told the employee to charge the items to the Town of Webbers Falls’ store account and drop them off at Ogg’s residence. The purchases totaled $810.93.

At a special meeting June 1, the board voted to go into executive session concerning the pending investigation. The board considered the role of the employee in the case but eventually voted to take no action on his employment.
