Come Out Saturday to ‘Honor Our Blue Line’

An event to “Honor Our Blue Line,” a fun-filled day for local law enforcement officers in the community, will be held Saturday at the Old Sallisaw High School Park.

“We want our local law enforcement officers to know how much we appreciate them,” event organizer Rachel Fair said recently.

The event will be from 5-9 p.m. and is free for all members of law enforcement and their families. The public is invited to attend as well.

Barbecue dinners will be available for $8 each, hot dog dinners will be on sale for $4, Fair said, and there will be lots of fun kids’ activities, including inflatables, face-painting and more available for donations.

Fair also said Dr. Freeze will be on hand. Thin Blue Line merchandise will also be available for purchase and all proceeds from the event will go toward our local agencies. Half of Dr. Freeze’s profits will go toward local agencies as well.

Fair said there will also be a silent auction and gift baskets will be given away.

Guest speakers at the event include Sallisaw Mayor Ernie Martens and more. There will also be an acoustic musical performance by Heath Wright, lead singer of the band Ricochet.

To donate items for the silent auction, contact Fair at (918) 315-2023, Tracy Lynn or Stacy or Charles House.
