The coronavirus has impacted the Sequoyah County Courthouse this week as an employee in the Court Clerk’s office tested positive for the illness.
In a statement released Thursday, Court Clerk Vicki Beaty said her office informed the Emergency Management Department about the positive case and they also are in contact with the Oklahoma Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
All court clerk’s office employees went to Northeastern Health System - Sequoyah to be tested. Those results are not expected until late Saturday. In the meantime, the court clerk’s office and all other courthouse offices now require masks and they will be hand-sanitizing and following any health guidelines.
“We will do whatever is necessary for our employees and the public,” Beaty said.
