This past Tuesday brought November elections into a more clear focus as voters can now make final decisions regarding votes for their candidates of choice in Sequoyah County.
The Sequoyah County Sheriff Republican ticket had three candidates but incumbent Larry Lane won decisively with 82% of the vote. There was no democratic candidate so Sheriff Lane immediately retains his office for four more years.
In November voters will have two county elections. Those races include the Sequoyah County Court Clerk office and District 2 County Commissioner.
Incumbent Democratic candidate Vicki Beatty will face Republican candidate Gina Cox for the office of Court Clerk. Cox won on the Republican ballot with 71% of the vote.
Incumbent Democratic candidate Steve Carter will face Republican candidate Beau Burlison for County Commissioner. Burlison won on the Republican ballot with 57% of the vote.

If you are not a registered voter now is the time to complete the process in order to be able to cast your ballot in November's election.
