Food Truck Park Set to Offer Variety

The Food Truck Park on Iola Avenue in Sallisaw is set up to offer residents a wide array of food choices in a convenient, family friendly environment.

Larry Crowe, who owns the site, said Thursday that he still has several open spaces for food truck operators to rent. The park has space for seven food trucks that rent for $250 per trailer per month. Each site has full hookups and water is paid, Crowe said.

"We are especially looking for trucks that serve barbecue and Mexican food," Crowe noted.

The park is about 80 percent complete, Crowe said, and he expects it to be completely ready for business in about three weeks. He said he expects to hold a grand-opening ceremony and ribbon- cutting in about a month.

Claude Burkhart owns the Gorilla Cheese Co., a truck that serves as an anchor at the food truck park. He said his truck offers gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, fresh soups and more.

Recent additions to the park include a fun entrance sign and new playground equipment. There is a covered patio with picnic -table seating and a heated and air-conditioned dining room with restaurant-style tables.

For more information or to rent a space, call Crowe at (918) 489-5136.
