The Sequoyah County Board of County Commissioners approved a pair of claim forms for resurfacing projects at their weekly meeting Monday.
The commissioners approved a claim form for the resurfacing project on Redwood Road’s utility relocation agreements with Sequoyah County Rural Water District 3.
They also approved a claim form regarding the Dwight Mission Road resurfacing project to pay Union Pacific Railroad Co. for District 2.
The panel also agreed to assist with a deed transfer Parcel 57 from the county to the Cherokee Nation.
Also at the meeting, Sequoyah County Emergency Management Director Steve Rutherford gave a report on the latest COVID-19 test results for the area. He said the county added one positive case, bringing the total to 86 cases, 25 of which are still active.
Sheriff Larry Lane also said his office is installing a new repeater tower at the site of the old one, which is no longer operable. Lane said a second repeater tower will be installed nearby at a later date.
