Due to the possibility of rain for Saturday, Aug. 3, organizers of the annual Back to School Roundup have made the decision to move the event to the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds located at 464101 East 1070 Road (East Redwood).
The 5th Annual Back to School Roundup is for students in Sequoyah County and will provide school supplies from 10 a.m. to noon. The doors won't open until 10 a.m.
Students must be present to receive supplies. The 500th student to register will receive a backpack filled with school supplies.
Backpacks are for Sequoyah County students only!
The event will also feature giveaways, free games, free photos and free food.
No smoking is allowed at the event.
Other Aug. 3 activities include a 1k Fun Run beginning at 7 a.m. Aug. 3 and the Red Bird 5k will start at 7:30 a.m. on the 3rd.
Sponsors for the event include the Mix 105.1, People Inc., the Sallisaw Lions Club, KiBois Community Action, the Health and Wellness Center, the Sallisaw Now Coalition, the Boys and Girls Club of Sequoyah County and more.
