A familiar face has taken up the reins as the chief executive officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Sequoyah County.
Laura Kuykendall, who has already begun her new job, was appointed to head up the agency after the previous CEO, Noreen Reininger, left to pursue other ventures.
Kuykendall said she has been with the Boys and Girls Club for 13 years, starting in 2003 when she was the chief financial officer. She left that job in 2005 to move to Arkadelphia, Ark. She returned to the agency in 2008 as the sponsor relationship coordinator. Her roles at the club quickly expanded until she was named as Reininger’s replacement.
“I hope to expand (the agency’s) fundraising, and I want to get parents more involved in what we do,” she said Tuesday.
