Sheriff’s Department Seeking Sex Offender

Failing to comply with sex offender registration has led to a felony charge for Anthony Michael Francis, 30, of Muldrow, a report reveals.

Records show that on July 29, a sheriff’s investigator received a letter from the state’s Department of Correction Sex and Violent Offender registration team saying they had not yet received Francis’ return of an address verification request.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Francis, the investigator was able to touch base with Francis’ grandmother, who said her grandson had been staying in a tent in the woods, believed to be in the Nicut community. Further inquiries proved fruitless.

Francis was convicted of the same charge in 2015 and 2016, records show.

The charge of failure to comply with sex offender registration carries a punishment of no more than 5 years in prison and/or a fine up to $5,000
