A Vian man was charged Tuesday in Sequoyah County District Court, Sallisaw, with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
George Edward Drew, 54, was arrested at his home in Vian on Oct. 12 during a child welfare check. Officers found a black Rossi break-over 12-gauge shotgun in his home. Drew was convicted in 2015 of unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. It was found after the arrest that Drew also had outstanding warrants out of the Coweta Police Department.
At the same time, officers arrested Carla Uselton who said she was Drew’s wife. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of LeFlore County.
Drew was released on a $10,000 bond on Friday.
