Sallisaw Main Street’s Cruizin’ 64 Car Show and Blues and Music Fest is set for Oct. 12, 13 and 14 in downtown Sallisaw.
This year’s fest features Connie Hawkins and the BluesWreckers from Kansas City. Hawkins and husband Steve are originally from Sallisaw, and organizers said a high school reunion is planned on the same weekend to include the Hawkins. They will be performing at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
They will be joined by Kodie Benge who will perform at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The fest includes not only music, and cruizin’ but also offers a car show starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, a chili cook-off starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Funtimes Carnival, food vendors, and pop up shops who offer arts, crafts, flea market items and information on various topics. Pop up stores will not be charged a fee to join in the festivities on Saturday, and will be on the lawn at Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in downtown Sallisaw.
Sallisaw Main Street members join in with their own food trailer, where they will be selling Indian tacos beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, a treat that should not be passed up.
For more information about the fest contact Carol Brown at 918-776-7920 or Margaret Perry at 918-441-5626.
