How fast can you go … Uphill?
Residents and city officials are gearing up for Marble City Mayhem 2019, which will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The annual event allows participants to see how fast their car, truck, lawnmower -- anything with wheels! -- can make it up Marble City Hill.
The event will also include a free kids’ zone with inflatables, face painting and other fun stuff; custom marble trophies; food trucks and merchandise sales.
There will be 14 classes for vehicles, so basically whatever you drive, there will be a spot for you. Trailer parking will be available for drag cars.
The entry fee is $15 for those who pre-register by calling (918) 230-0605. Entry fee on the day of the event will be $20.
Free T-shirts will be given to the first 50 entrants.
Round 1 of the event will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Round 2 is from 12:30-3 p.m. You must present your license and insurance at registration. Participants can enter either round, but 1st-round winners must stay for the second round in case of tie-breakers.
Spectator parking will be west of the railroad tracks for $5 per car, and there will be free shuttle bus service to the event area.
Bring your lawn chair and come watch the fun!
