A Marble City man was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, a felony, after a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near Muldrow.
Records indicate that Cody Shannon Sonnier, 29, was arrested Sept. 10 at Mile Marker 316 on I-40 West when a Muldrow police officer saw the vehicle Sonnier was driving traveling 91 mph in a marked 70 mph zone.
When the officer made contact with Sonnier, he could smell alcohol. Sonnier failed a sobriety test and his blood-alcohol content was 0.11. The legal limit is 0.8.
He was charged with DUI in December 2018, records reveal. He was released then under the supervision of the district attorney.
Sonnier was released on $5,500 bond. His next court appearance is at 9 a.m. Oct. 23.
The DUI charge is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and imprisonment for up to one year.
