Two Men Indicted for Mower Thefts

 Tyler Jones

Thomas Bardrick

The Federal Grand Jury in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Oklahoma in Muskogee has indicted a Vian man and a man from Fort Smith for the interstate transportation of stolen property.

Tyler Wayne Jones, 24, of Vian and Thomas Charles Bardrick, 20, of Fort Smith are accused of unlawfully transporting six stolen zero-turn mowers valued at $5,000 or more, each.

The charge resulted from an investigation by the Sallisaw Police Department, the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The mowers were stolen from Taylor Rentals on April 15, and valued at a total of about $30,000. The mowers were later recovered by Fort Smith police. The investigation then led investigators to Rock Island, Okla. Jones was then taken into custody and an arrest warrant issued for Bardrick. A third man was reported involved, but was not indicted along with Jones and Bardrick.

The offense is punishable by no more than 10 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000 or both.

The jury met July 18 and 19 in Muskogee.
