Sallisaw Police Searching for Fugitive

A man sought by Fort Smith police is believed to be in Sallisaw, and Sallisaw police are warning residents to not approach the man who is described as “armed and dangerous.”

Police said Jamie Huskey, 45, has also threatened suicide by cop, and is armed with a pistol. Anyone who has seen the man or knows of his whereabouts should contact Sallisaw police immediately at 918-775-4141.

According to Fort Smith police Huskey is accused of hitting his sister with a metal object during a fight at a home in the 4600 block of Mussett Road early Wednesday. The sister was taken to a Fort Smith hospital.

Sallisaw police spotted Huskey’s vehicle, a black Chrysler 200, at a Sallisaw motel about 1 p.m. Wednesday, and are searching the area.

Huskey is described as slightly more heavy set than the accompanying photo. He is reported to be dressed in a T-shirt and dark shorts and is wearing a baseball cap. He also has a long pony tail.

Police said Huskey may be headed back to Arkansas or Missouri. 

He has failed to register as a sex offender, and he will face charges of felony domestic battery and aggravated assault Fort Smith police said. He is also wanted out of Texas, and his bond was revoked on a sexual assault charge.
