Roland Man Arrested for Misconduct with Children

A Roland man was recently arrested on multiple counts of sexual misconduct with minor children.

The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office reported Jason McKown was arrested June 28 after a search warrant was served at his Roland home. The sheriff’s office, Roland Police Department and State Attorney General’s office served the warrant.

McKown was charged June 28 in Sequoyah County District Court with four counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology, three counts of child pornography and one count of violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act 21.

He entered a not guilty plea to the charges on July 5, and the case was set for Aug. 2 on Associate District Judge Kyle Water’s felony disposition docket. McKown was also appointed an attorney through the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System.
