Pony Survives Arrow Wounds, Reward Offered

A white pony named Snowy is recovering from two arrow wounds, and her owners are offering a $300 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot her.

Rachel Bellman told the media last week that the pony was a gift for her 3-year-old son, Remington. His fourth birthday is Jan. 31.

After her arrival at the Bellman home, Snowy escaped and when found in a neighbor’s yard, had arrow wounds in her ear and on her shoulder.

A veterinarian and the Gore police were called. Bellman reported the veterinarian had to take a bit of cartilage out of Snowy’s ear, which leaves the ear flopping some and unable to be upright.

The Bellmans have improved Snowy’s fencing. They also hope police will find the shooter, and they would like an apology to their son and his brother Brantley, age 6.

Bellman said, “I think the kids deserve an apology.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Gore police at 918-489-5963.
