Sallisaw Electric Department employees replaced a power pole at 423 N. Wheeler Monday morning after the pole was hit by a vehicle.
Blakely Smith, department superintendent, said the city received the call about the pole at about 6:40 a.m. Workers found the pole still standing but in need of replacement. The pole was propped up for safety as preparations were made to install a new pole. The new pole was in place by 9 a.m.
Smith said the broken pole did not disrupt service, except possibly to Fullbright’s Car Wash as the new pole was placed.
