The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced Wednesday that Leon Richard Autry, 43, of Cookson, was sentenced to 108 months imprisonment, and three years supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The Indictment alleged that on or about March 2, 2016, the defendant, having been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for one year, possessed firearms that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the Tahlequah Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The defendant will remain in custody pending transportation to a federal prison where the non-parolable sentence will be served.
