Sallisaw police have released the name of a deceased man found in a residence at 205 W. Scott St. in Sallisaw on Tuesday.
The man is Larry Don Dillard, age 61, said Police Chief Terry Franklin.
Franklin announced Wednesday that the circumstances of Dillard’s unattended death appeared suspicious to police, who were called to the scene at about 4:13 p.m. Tuesday. Because of those suspicions, Dillard’s body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Tulsa for an autopsy. It is also a state law that all unattended deaths be sent to the state medical examiner.
Franklin said investigators have not heard from the medical examiner as of early Thursday.
He said police were interviewing people, but no arrests have been made.
