The SAC Nutrition Center in Vian is needing folks to come eat!
The Vian center currently has 17 openings for senior citizens to drive-through to pick up hot meals, SAC Director Carol Thomas said Tuesday.
“We are only allotted so many. We have two (now) and our goal is to have a total of 19,” she said. “We are really trying to increase our congregate.”
The “congregate” is made up of the seniors who were able to come into the center and dine before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the center to close its doors to in-person diners. Thomas said those numbers in Vian are “really low.”
To be eligible to come pick up a meal, diners must be 60 years of age and older. To make an appointment, contact Alisha Tuttle, site manager at the Vian center, at (918) 773-8787.
The Vian Nutrition Center is located at 111 S. Blackstone.
