Tenkiller State Park is Seeking Camp Hosts

Tenkiller State Park is Seeking Camp Hosts for Summer 2021. There are several camp host positions open as early as March 2021 and as late as October 2021.

Volunteering for at least 25 hours a week will get you a free RV full hookup site for the summer. A three-month commitment is required, though the season may be longer in certain areas of the park.

Participants must complete an application and background check. Camp hosts are provided with a spacious campsite and a golf cart for use when performing park duties. Camp hosts are a vital part of the park family! Visit https://www.travelok.com/state-parks/tenkiller-state-park for more information.

Tenkiller State Park’s Flying Squirrel and Fox Squirrel area has 51 sites and is in need of a responsible and reliable camp host.

A more secluded experience, the Shady Grove and Blue Jay Knob area is also in need of a camp host. That area has 33 sites, including some full hookup and water and electric sites only.

Tenkiller State Park is 12 miles from Vian and 9 miles from Gore on Tenkiller Ferry Lake and half a mile from Pine Cove Marina. Most customers are recreational extended and weekend stay campers. There are plenty of activities for children at the Driftwood Nature Center. Tenkiller State Park supplies electric, water and sewer by septic and trash for onsite seasonal park host volunteers. The RV area does not have cable, WIFI or laundry, but does have shower houses.

Duties would be:

*Speaking with customers and potential customers. This can include using your cell phone and face-to-face interactions.

*Showing sites and guiding arriving visitors to their reserved camp sites.

*Helping someone park their RV or showing set-up process for utilities. It’s seldom, but it can happen.

*Placing placards on reserved sites and informing owner of check-out times.

*Keeping rules and regulations enforced by notifying park ranger or management.

*Picking up loose trash around park.

*Basic campsite management without invoicing customers.

*Light mowing.

*Fall is tree trimming and leaf removal.

*Spraying for weed kill.

Park host compensation: Spacious and free RV full hook-up site.

Please submit a cover letter and resume to JM Shelton at jm.shelton@travelok.com or call (918) 489-5641, extension 27.
