Residents of Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home in Sallisaw have a special treat planned for their loved ones Thursday, a parade!
The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. and family members and friends are asked to pull through Sequoyah Manor’s driveway and circle around the flagpole. The residents will be lined up around that area on the sidewalk.
Parade participants are asked to line up in the church parking lot next to Clif's Pharmacy. Everyone participating is asked to start from this point to avoid traffic issues.

Cheyene Hobson, Sequoyah Manor’s activities director, said Tuesday that the home’s 98 residents are “excited” about the parade because for most of them, it will be the first time they’ve been able to see their loved ones since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“I hope it brings a smile to everyone’s face,” Hobson said. “We just want everyone to have a good time.”
