The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is continuing to work to make sure the most vulnerable among us has the life-saving blood they need for life and health by doing everything in its power to protect the local blood supply.
The OBI is looking for ways to provide healthy members of the population an opportunity to support the local blood supply by giving blood, while at the same time minimizing the risk of exposure to COVID-19. To that end, they have invited First Baptist Church in Sallisaw to join them in this effort by providing a location for local residents to give blood.
They are calling these special blood drives Micro Drives since they are intentionally keeping them small and manageable to ensure their ability to follow guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health, as well as state and local governments, for the continuation of essential services.
Below are the details of the dates they have arranged with Pastor Joe Taylor for community blood drives at the church:
Micro Blood Drives – Sallisaw
Friday, April 17 and 24
First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall
1-6 p.m.
We are asking that as many people as possible make appointments to help us control the number of people present at any one time. To make that process as easy as possible, we set up online schedules anyone can access:
