Holding their weekly meeting Monday via teleconference because of the ongoing efforts to stop the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sequoyah County commissioners discussed the toll the virus has taken on Sequoyah County and its residents.
Sequoyah County Emergency Management Director Steve Rutherford told the commissioners that there are currently 11 cases of coronavirus in the county, and two people have died.
In other business, the commissioners approved a request for public assistance for the county emergency management department. They also approved a $1,000 transfer of appropriations from the sheriff’s forfeiture capital outlay to the sheriff’s forfeiture maintenance and operations account.
