The Sequoyah County Junior Livestock Show will be Feb. 26-28 at the county fairgrounds, 464101 E. 1070 Road/East Redwood and Shurley in Sallisaw.
The 55th annual event will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, with weigh-in and sifting of the animals until noon the day of the show.
In an interview Monday, Madison Walters said members of 4-H clubs and Future Farmers of America from around the county spend about a year raising and caring for their animals in preparation for livestock shows, where they get to show off their hard work. “It takes a lot of dedication,” she said.
The event is free and guests are welcome to arrive early and check out the animals before the show begins.
