The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring up to 500,000 temporary, part-time census takers for the 2020 Census in communities across the country.
Census results are used to determine your representation in Congress and they help decide how billions of dollars are distributed to hospitals, schools, roads and more.
To help ensure that everyone in your community is counted in the 2020 Census, anyone 18 and older, such as recent high school graduates, college students, veterans, retirees, military spouses, seasonal workers and people who are bilingual are highly encouraged to apply. People who already have jobs and want to earn extra income on evenings and weekends are also encouraged to apply by visiting 2020Census.gov to apply. Pay rates and work hours vary by position and location.
The U.S. Census Bureau is an equal opportunity employer. Jobs for the 2020 Census include field and office positions throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. A single application allows you to be considered for several positions, including census taker, recruiting assistant, office clerk and supervisory staff.
