Artist Donates Work to County

An area artist will have his work on display at the Sequoyah County Courthouse after he donated a painting to the county Monday.

Artist Daniel Walters said the painting, which features the old courthouse in a nighttime scene, will hang in honor of his cousin, Greg Walters.

Walters said he mostly paints historic scenes because people don’t want to lose “all those little stories, the characters” that come with life in a small town.

Also on Monday, the Sequoyah County Board of Commissioners awarded a bid for the purchase of a pumper tanker truck to be used by the Gore Fire Department.
