A squirrel was responsible for a power outage in Sallisaw Wednesday evening, city officials said.
The power went out at about 6:39 p.m. and was restored several hours later. Lines were reported to be on the ground and arcing, which required police and city crews to work at four-way stops as stoplights were not functioning.
Officials said a cleaning crew was also briefly trapped in an elevator at city hall during the outage until they were rescued.
