The death of a man and the hospitalization of a woman were the result of a two-vehicle crash on Saturday near Poteau.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported James Bias, 62, of Cameron was pronounced dead at the scene by LeFlore County EMS.
The OHP reported Bias was driving a 2000 Buick four-door east on State Highway 112, about two miles east of Poteau, when he went left of center and struck a 2012 Hyundai driven by Crystal Kennedy, 25, of Poteau. She was transported to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith where she was admitted and listed in stable condition with trunk and internal injuries.
Bias was pinned in his vehicle for about 30 minutes and freed by Poteau Fire Department using the Hurst Tool.
The OHP reported seat belts were in use.
