A Florida man is free on a $25,000 bond after his arrest for possession of marijuana.
According to court records, Ray Bruce Riggs, 51, of Crystal River, Fla., was charged Tuesday in Sequoyah County District Court, Sallisaw, with unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and a misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) report filed with the charges revealed Riggs was stopped at mile marker 297 eastbound on Interstate 40 on Oct. 25 for speeding, at 73 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone.
A search of Riggs vehicle uncovered several containers of marijuana that weighed about one pound. The find included 111 bags of “shatter,” which is described as a potent marijuana derivative.
Riggs was freed Wednesday on a $25,000 bond.
