Anthony Lutes, 50, of Sallisaw was charged Nov. 8 in Sequoyah County District Court with taking or receiving a stolen credit or debit card, a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized use of a credit card.
According to the arresting officer’s report filed with the charges, the victim went to the bank on Nov. 3 to have his debit card replaced and was told that someone had tried to use his card at a Sallisaw business. The victim reported he suspected Lutes because the card was lost at about the time Lutes was present.
The officer located Lutes and asked him about the missing debit card. The interrogation was videoed on the officer’s POV camera. He reported Lutes did not admit to taking or using the card, but kept reaching into a back pocket, even though he was told to not do so.
The officer found the missing card laying at Lutes’ feet, and Lutes was arrested.
