The hometown book, “Iron Post Corner,” by the hometown author Clayton Lucas, is now available on Amazon and also at www.IronPostCorner.com. Copies purchased through the website rather than Amazon will be signed by Lucas.
This is the first novel for Lucas. Reviewers say the book is so good it is hard to put down. According to Amazon the book is:
“An awesome saga of parallel lives interwoven through time, leading to that place where destinies intersect. For the first time since childhood, Heather finds herself living in Oklahoma, this time by choice, consoled by the last words of a man she loves like a grandfather. But, when "Grandpa Charley" promised her that Tony, his grandson and her childhood confidant, will soon return, Heather is beyond skeptical. More than a decade earlier, after being utterly betrayed by his father, Tony vowed never to return. Because of this Heather concluded that their friendship was not as enduring as she once believed. Yet, within weeks of Grandpa Charley's passing, and just as he predicted, the unbelievable happens: Tony returns. Conflicted between the unyielding bond they once shared as children and the resentment she now feels toward Tony, Heather reluctantly feels drawn to him but still struggles to reconnect. She is driven by a promise she made to Grandpa Charley that, by design, would put her and Tony together to uncover and untangle his grandfather's incredible hidden past. Unknowingly they both embark on a journey of self-discovery as they come face to face with the skeletons of the past, and the love, resilience and redeeming power of family. What Heather doesn't know is that she is in no way prepared for what happens next.”
When Lucas’ book was purchased by a publisher earlier this year, he said, “It’s a dream come true. It’s something I always wanted to do.”
Lucas said he is already at work on a second novel, set in Missouri.
