The City of Sallisaw announced Thursday that the new system to pay camping fees at Brushy Lake Park is now operational. City Manager Clayton Lucas suggested the automated system, which was approved by city commissioners, as a money-saving convenience after the Brushy Park ranger retired earlier this year. He explained the automated fee-paying system is now in use at many national parks.
The fee station is at the entrance to the park, next to the maintenance building (look for the flag pole). Campsites are $15 per night. Pavilions are $50 per night, or $25 for day use. To reserve the pavilion contact city hall at 918-775-6241.
To pay for camping:
*Select an empty campsite and complete the requested information on the envelope at the site.
*Detach the receipt from the envelope, note the days of the campsite rental. Hang the receipt on the inside rearview mirror facing the windshield in your vehicle.
*Enclose the posted camping fee in the envelope and insert the envelope in the collection box.
*Please make all checks payable to the City of Sallisaw. Your home (mailing) address, phone number and driver's license number must be on the front of your check.
For more information and availability of pavilions contact city hall at 918-775-6241 or by email at cityof sallisaw@sallisawok.org.
