The Carl Albert State College (CASC) Pep Band features several Sequoyah County musicians and is preparing for a busy fall.
In addition to playing at CASC Viking basketball games, the CASC Pep Band has performances scheduled at the Balloon Fest in Poteau Oct. 16 and 17, at the Poteau Veteran's Day Parade on Nov. 7, and at the Poteau Christmas Parade on Dec. 5. They also have a performance scheduled during CASC Senior Day on the Poteau campus Nov. 12.
Dana Dinsmore-Davis, originally of Sallisaw, is the band director.
Band members with county ties are Kayla Armer and Jocelyn Barcenas, both Muldrow High School graduates.
Some scholarships are available for CASC Pep Band members to cover books and partial room expenses. There is a tryout process and for details contact Dinsmore-Davis at 918-647-1267 or Jared Pearson, student director, at 918-647-1243.
