Sallisaw is celebrating Veterans Day with a ceremony set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Indian Capital Technology Center.
Sponsored by American Legion Post 27, Sallisaw VFW Post 4518 and the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, the event will feature Frank Sullivan III as master of ceremonies and Gabrielle Gore will sing the National Anthem. Guest speaker will be the Rev. John Bennett, a former Oklahoma state representative.
There will be a wreath ceremony, dedication of retired flags, the playing of taps by Kylin Abell of Sallisaw Middle School and a bagpipe rendition of “Amazing Grace.”
Masks will be required and temperatures will be taken at the door.
Event organizers offer up special thanks to ICTC, Dart Drummond and Joe Wagg.
