Broadway Joe’s Plans 20th Thanksgiving Feast

Broadway Joe’s Restaurant in Muldrow is determined to give folks in need a great Thanksgiving this year with its annual feast.

This will be the 20th year Marina and Joe Morgan have been hosting their free Thanksgiving dinner, and they say it’s worth all the effort.

The Thanksgiving Day meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include chicken and dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, a dinner roll and dessert.

Marina Morgan said they don’t expect donations for the meal, but any money they receive will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for those who otherwise wouldn’t have Christmas in the Muldrow area. She said she and her husband try to buy food for the Thanksgiving feast a little at a time so it isn’t all one big purchase, which allows them to spread the donation money a little farther.

When asked how many people she expects at this year’s Thanksgiving event, Marina Morgan said, “I assume this will be a big year with the pandemic. I think it will be monumental.”

Marina Morgan said she appreciates everyone who volunteers to help her and her husband cook and serve the holiday meal every year at the restaurant, which is at 313 W. Shawntel Smith Boulevard.
