Community Thanksgiving Feast Goes to Drive-Through

For the fifth year in a row, community partners have organized a Thanksgiving feast for folks in Sequoyah County.

Sponsored by KiBois, Health & Wellness, People Inc. and Sallisaw NOW, the drive-through meal will be held the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The free meals may be picked up at the Sallisaw Middle School cafeteria. Delivery will also be available, via KATS buses, to the Garden Walk, Tsa-La-Gi, Village West and Cooper Park apartment complexes. Melissa Lowe of KiBois said Monday that the meal is available for anyone in Sequoyah County and no documentation is necessary.

Lowe said that more than 800 people were served last year, and she expects to see similar numbers at this year’s meal.

“This meal is made possible strictly by donations,” Lowe said, “so shoutout to all who have donated to us now or in the past.”
