Webbers Falls Police Awarded Grant

Attorney General Scott Pruitt on Thursday announced the latest round of Safe Oklahoma Grant awards given to law enforcement agencies across Oklahoma.

The Webbers Falls Police Department will be receiving a $10,000 grant to further patrol high-crime areas including some of the lower-income apartment complexes, Interstate 40 and the city park.

The grant awards provide funds for law enforcement agencies to use approved data-driven techniques to target violent crime in Oklahoma communities through strategies such as increasing the frequency of patrols in known, high-crime areas.

The Attorney General’s Safe Oklahoma Grant program, established in 2013, is funded by an annual appropriation from the state Legislature and provides local law enforcement agencies with additional resources to fight violent crime in local jurisdictions through overtime patrols and enhanced technological and analytical capabilities.
