Wreck Sends Keota Man to Hospital

An 80-year-old Keota man was hospitalized in Fort Smith Tuesday morning after his vehicle struck a tree off State Highway 9. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Charles Coble was driving a 2003 Dodge west on Highway 9, one-tenth of a mile east of Keota in Haskell County, when the vehicle left the road to the right, struck a sign and then a tree. The wreck occurred at 5:32 a.m. Coble was transported by Haskell EMS to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith then transferred to St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury.
