Ark. Man Charged with Assault, Battery

Vincent Harry Small, 55, of Uniontown, Ark., was charged last week in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw with domestic assault and battery by strangulation. According to the police report filed with the charge, Small is accused of strangling his girlfriend at a rural Muldrow residence. The report reveals the victim told police that during an argument., Small threw her to the floor and started to hit her with an ax, but he hit the wall above her instead. He choked her twice until she passed out, the victim told police, and when she woke up the suspect was dragging her across the floor by her hair, while shouting he was going to kill her. The victim broke loose, grabbed her phone and called 911. When Small realized police were on their way, he left the residence. A bench warrant was issued for Small on Aug. 4, the same day the charge was filed against him. By Sally Maxwell, Senior News Director
