Oklahoma Army Guard Flying Over County

Sequoyah County residents get a free helicopter air show this month as UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters fly over during the Oklahoma Army National Guard's annual training. Lt. Col. Lars Ostervold of Broken Arrow, now at Camp Gruber, said the Oklahoma Army National Guard is now taking annual training, and the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters may be seen throughout June, as their pilots take flight training between Camp Gruber and Fort Chaffee in Arkansas. Most recently, the Oklahoma Army National guard and their helicopters assisted in containing wild fires in Oklahoma. But this month, it's a free helicopter air show for Sequoyah County residents.
