Ginifer O'Bryan served as a page at the Oklahoma House of Representatives from March 30 through April 2. A junior at Muldrow High School, O'Bryan lives in State Rep. John Bennett's (R-Sallisaw) district. Her service included running messages to state lawmakers during session hours and helping with office tasks.
The House maintains a program allowing Oklahoma students to experience the legislative process firsthand. Pages are assigned for one week, Monday through Thursday, during the legislative session from February to May. Pages participate in a mock session from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Representing the state of Pageville, they elect state officials and legislative leaders. Normal page duties begin at 8 a.m. each day and end at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
O'Bryan said she plans to be a veterinarian and she raises Simmental cattle. She had a winning champion of the ancient breed of cattle at the Tulsa State Fair.
