Parker, seated, singer and songwriter from Fort Smith, performed at a Library
Appreciation Reception held Monday at Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in
Sallisaw. Parker sang some of his own compositions about the history of the
area and some old favorites by George Strait, John Denver, Willie Nelson, and
Glen Campbell. Parker was introduced by Carrol Copeland, standing, president of
the Sallisaw Friends of the Library, which hosted the reception. Those
attending the reception, held in conjunction with National Library Week, were
served punch and cupcakes.
