Old School's Walls Unsafe, Engineer Decides

An engineer's study has determined that a portion of the walls at what remains of the old Sallisaw High School are unsafe. The city issued a press release Monday announcing the structural evaluation of the old school determined that the existing walls outside of four feet from the rotunda are unsafe and dangerous. The engineer recommends removing the walls as soon as possible. He determined that the existing rotunda and four feet of walls on either side are safe, provided some repair are completed.
